Webinar: "Bite elevation with direct adhesive technique"

Step-by-step instructions for restoring a new occlusal position with directly applied composite in severely abraded dentures.

Availability: On Demand
Speakers: Dr. Uwe Blunck (Charité Berlin) and Prof. Dr. Thomas Attin (University of Zurich)

The successes of prevention mean that an increasingly large proportion of patients have a higher number of teeth, but these often show severe signs of wear (erosion, abrasion, etc.). But these phenomena are also increasingly observed in young people due to the excessive consumption of soft drinks. This is usually accompanied by a lowering of the bite with loss of jaw relationship. In order to restore the lost vertical dimension, it is possible, among other things, to use the adhesive technique to restore the new bite position with directly applied composite. In the webinar, the working steps for implementing this technique are presented step by step and the safest pre-treatment techniques for the substrate surfaces of enamel, dentin, composite, ceramic and metal are presented, as well as the basics for correct application of the various primer and adhesive systems.

Learning content:

  • Clinical appearance and aetiology of dental erosions
  • Function-related prerequisites for bite elevation
  • Step-by-step implementation of bite elevation with direct adhesive technique in the anterior and posterior region
  • Case examples of bite elevation with direct adhesive technique
  • Pre-treatment of enamel, dentin, metal, amalgam, composite, ceramics
  • Composites for the implementation of bite elevation in the anterior and posterior region
