TOKUYAMA Master Course 2024 in Japan
From 27 to 29 May 2024, the renowned "TOKUYAMA Master Course" took place in Tokyo, Japan, once again bringing together dentists and experts from all over the world. The event provided a unique platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience. The course days were perceived as extremely inspiring and enriching by all participants.
Day 1: Lectures by top Japanese experts
The first day of the Master Course began at TOKUYAMA DENTAL's headquarters in Tokyo – with a welcome address by Koichiro Hirata, Ph. D., General Manager of TOKUYAMA's Technologies in Dental Materials Department. This was followed by a series of presentations of leading Japanese experts in restorative dentistry: Dr Tomohiro Takagaki (Assistant Professor, Tokyo Medical and Dental University - TMDU) opened the event with a presentation on the latest findings in dental adhesive research. This was followed by Prof Junji Tagami (Professor Emeritus, TMDU), whose presentation on working with pioneering composite and adhesive materials inspired the audience. Dr Noboru Takahashi (Lecturer, TMDU) concluded with insights into innovative techniques for optimising aesthetic composite restorations. The presentations provided a comprehensive overview of current developments and challenges in modern dentistry.
Day 2: Practical experience in the hands-on course
The second day was all about practical application. At the TOKUYAMA DENTAL headquarters, the participants had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and try out new techniques directly in an intensive hands-on course. Under the guidance of Dr Noboru Takahashi, the dentists were able to test various materials and methods, develop their skills and exchange ideas on an equal footing. This hands-on approach was particularly appreciated by all participants, as it gave them the opportunity to put what they had learnt into practice immediately and gain valuable experience.
Day 3: A look into the future of dentistry
On the third day, the trip took the participants to Tsukuba, to the TOKUYAMA DENTAL research and development centre. There they were given an exclusive insight into the company's work processes and latest research projects and developments. The tour was accompanied by presentations by the participating dentists, who shared their own research results and clinical experiences. This exchange at the highest scientific level enabled the participants to expand their knowledge and gain new perspectives.
